Valorant Gekko Statue
To kick off 2024, Riot Games came to Volpin Props requesting a life sized sculpture of their Los Angeles native character, Gekko, that would be housed in their new esports arena. Riot kindly supplied us a few 3D models to get us going: low poly posed models, high poly T poses, and a posed high poly head. I was tasked with taking all of these models, posing them, and splitting them accordingly for ease of steel rigging, paint, and assembly. Once booleaned, the sculpt was 82 individual 3D printed parts with a hand fabricated base, real skate board, LCD bubble screen in the bag, and other found accents. After 3D printing and on the physical side of the project, I scratch built the base over a welded steel frame and made his resin eyes.
